Finance Analyst

The Role:

The Finance Analyst is responsible for inputting and maintaining accurate financial records, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, preparing financial reports and record-keeping. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role maintains accurate financial records while ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Process accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and other financial transactions promptly and accurately.
  • Process accounts receivable, including invoicing and reconciling payments.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Ensure accuracy of financial data by performing monthly audits and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.
  • Calculate and process payroll for employees, including deductions, taxes, and benefits while ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and deadlines.
  • Monitor budgets on a regular basis, including tracking expenses, analyzing variances, and providing reports to management.
  • Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Utilize financial software systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Ceridian PowerPay

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or post-secondary certificate in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proven experience in a finance or accounting support role.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in the Google suite and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and proficiency with financial software systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Ceridian PowerPay.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, both independently and as part of a team
  • Highly productive and able to work with limited guidance in a fast-paced environment
