Student completes degree while working in her field of study.
In our industry, customer care agent is one of the most widespread entry-level jobs. Our company hires students every summer to fill in for the summer vacation period. Some of these students stay on part-time while they're in school and some stay after graduation. My story is about one of these students. She started working at our company in the first summer of her bachelor's degree in Communications. She was hired as a customer care agent and her contract was renewed after the summer. In the second year of her degree, she needed to find a WIL experience in her field. So she knocked on the door of the Communications Department manager and asked if there was a place for her. After a brief interview, she got a 3-month part-time contract on the Communications team and that contract was eventually renewed so she could complete her degree while working in her field. In retrospect, her WIL experience shaped her career path.
