The Role:
BHER is hiring a Research Coordinator to support our growing qualitative research portfolio, including a national multi-year initiative focused on improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities and helping employers recognize diverse talent.
The Research Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day delivery of research projects. They will focus on supporting participant recruitment, organizing consultations, and coordinating internal workflows. This role is ideal for someone who brings strong organizational skills, enjoys working with people, and is committed to accessibility and inclusion.
The Research Coordinator reports to BHER’s Research Manager and works closely with the research team and other project collaborators.
Responsibilities:
Participant Recruitment + Coordination
- Recruit, schedule, and support participants for interviews, focus groups, and workshops (youth with disabilities, employers, and career practitioners).
- Track participant data and ensure consent and accessibility protocols are followed.
- Liaise with partner organizations to support outreach and engagement.
Project Support + Logistics
- Coordinate research team calendars, meetings, and timelines.
- Maintain project documentation, contact lists, and reporting logs.
- Support the setup and logistics of virtual or in-person consultations and co-design sessions.
- Assist in preparing research tools and materials.
Collaboration + Communications
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, project participants, and external stakeholders.
- Support internal knowledge-sharing and contribute to project updates and documentation.
- Work closely with the Research Manager and Research Assistant to ensure a cohesive and well-supported research process.
Qualifications:
Must-Haves
- 3+ years experience in research, program coordination, community engagement, or a related field.
- Experience recruiting or working with diverse participants, especially youth and/or people with disabilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfort working across teams and managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with standard digital tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Zoom, spreadsheets).
Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of accessibility principles and/or lived experience with disability.
- Experience working in an applied research or evaluation setting.
- Bilingualism (English/French).
