On October 9, BHER CEO Val Walker spoke to a House of Commons Standing Committee about the importance of helping youth name and prove their skills, guiding youth to the biggest demand for jobs, and making work-integrated learning the default on-ramp to jobs.
Walker emphasized the need for flexible programming and partnerships between large employers and post-secondary institutions, in order to create opportunities for young people to secure their first jobs and improve Canada’s productivity.
