In collaboration with BHER, the University of Ottawa held its first Knowledge Mobilization Symposium on the "Professional Integration of International Graduates" on June 26, 2025
The two-day bilingual event brought together specialists, practitioners, individuals with lived experience, and other partners to explore key opportunities and challenges facing international students in the labour market. Through interactive sessions, case studies, and BHER-funded initiatives, the event explored the full international student journey from arrival to employment, centering student voices and fostering collaboration among institutions, employers, policymakers, and the international student community.
On the second day, attendees heard from BHER's Director of Research & Programs Andrew Bieler in a session called "Ideas that Work – Improving International Students’ Employment Prospects Together." This session highlighted the challenges and lessons learned from BHER-funded projects aimed at improving the career prospects of international students.
