On May 27, BHER CEO Val Walker and Chief R&D Officer Matt McKean brought together BC-based BHER members in Vancouver to discuss British Columbia’s emerging economic and workforce priorities and opportunities for collaboration to support BC’s Look West priorities.
Look West positions BC as a driver of Canada’s next phase of economic growth. Delivering on these ambitions will require strong coordination across talent development, research, industry partnerships, and workforce pathways.
Our post-secondary and industry members in BC and across the country are working collaboratively to tackle some of Canada’s biggest skills, talent, and economic challenges in multiple ways, including engaging in BHER’s Leadership Tables. Across key national economic and workforce priorities – Artificial Intelligence, Energy, Defence, Health, and Space – the Leadership Tables bring leaders together to align on emerging priorities, share insights, and drive collaborative action, moving beyond conversation to advance actionable outcomes.
