The Canadian Science and Innovation Policy Conference will bring leaders from industry, academia, and government together to examine how Canada can use science, technology and innovation to position itself as a competitive global partner. The conference will focus on building capacity, long-term capability, coordination, and implementation.
BHER CEO, Val Walker, will participate in a panel discussion on Building Canada’s Innovation Workforce: Talent as Critical Infrastructure. Val will join leaders from the science sector to examine how to develop work-ready talent through experiential learning and industry partnerships to equip graduates with the skills employers need.
She will speak alongside Stephen Lucas, President of Mitacs; Paul Smith, Executive Director of the Chemical Institute of Canada; and Mona Nemer, Canada’s Chief Science Advisor. Val will share insights on post-secondary + industry coordination and what BHER has learned about building talent capacity from successfully facilitating over 80,000 opportunities through our national work-integrated learning program.
