The Black Business and Professional Association (BBPA) is a non-profit organization that addresses equity and opportunity for the Black community in business, employment, education and economic development.
BBPA worked with Centennial College and Tropicana Community Services for this project, which included marketing, developing a stakeholder engagement strategy, and working with partners to develop an Employer WIL Guide.
The project reduced barriers to WIL for Black students, an underrepresented population in WIL. BBPA also developed an employer guide for WIL host organizations to facilitate quality inclusive WIL opportunities for Black and other racialized students in post-secondary programs. BHER supported BBPA in sharing this guide with employers across Canada.
