Connecting leaders. Building capacity. Driving change.

Community Campus Engage Canada

Community Campus Engage Canada (CCEC) is a national network and knowledge-sharing community for organizations and individuals addressing pressing social and environmental challenges through community-campus engagement (CCE). They work to connect people, ideas and resources to build reciprocal partnerships and offer comprehensive access to CCE expertise and advice.

BHER’s funding allowed CCEC to deepen its expertise in CEL within the University of Regina and across Canada, and to develop updated guidance on CEL that can be shared with post-secondary institutions and community-campus engagement practitioners across the country. Significant aspects of this project included opportunities to communicate in-depth with community, campus, and boundary-spanning representatives within and beyond the CCEC network, as well as a comprehensive scan of existing CEL programs at institutions across Canada that was made possible through this project.

CCEC coordinated the project, promoted it to their network via a newsletter and social media platforms, produced a guiding framework document to support CSL development across Canada, and housed the research outputs on their website.  The Trent Centre for Community Based Education acted as the host organization for CCEC. The University of Regina provided use of campus resources, recruited students, and helped promote the project and share the research outputs through their network.
