Founded in 1878, we deliver ‘The Western Experience’, an exemplary learning experience that engages the best and brightest people challenging them to meet ever-higher standards in the classroom and beyond.
We inform every dimension of a student – intellectual, social, cultural as well as physical. From our home in London, Ont., Canada, outward across every continent, Western prepares future leaders to succeed. Our students strike a balance between high academic achievement and athletic/social engagement that together fosters a life-long sense of pride and belonging to the Western community. Combining more than 1,350 faculty members and more than 30,000 students, the university has established itself as a globally recognized destination for academic excellence and leadership development achieved through learning and research. A primary objective of Western International is to support an environment and community that promotes the education of global-ready graduates.
Since that first class graduated in 1883, the university has become a vibrant centre of learning. Through 12 faculties and three affiliated university colleges, Western today offers its 36,000-plus students more than 400 specializations, majors and minors. And while our excellence roots itself in history, Western continues to eye the next-generation discoveries.
This partnership between BHER and Western University will create work-integrated learning placements for first or second-year students in Arts & Humanities, Information & Media Studies, and Social Science programs. A collaboration with TechAlliance will help foster recruitment and hiring of Liberal Arts graduates in the local tech sector. The project will also engage the Morrissette Institute for Entrepreneurship and offer workshops to help students learn problem-solving techniques, improve entrepreneurial thinking, and develop transferable skills.
