Community Futures Development Corporation Fraser Fort George + College of New Caledonia

This partnership with Community Futures Development Corporation Fraser Fort George was designed to reduce barriers to WIL for not-for-profit organizations in rural and remote regions. Community Futures developed modules to support both students and NFPs engaging in meaningful WIL that could be shared across the country and through the organizations they engaged with.

Community Futures engaged 36 organizations, including 30 non-profit organizations, 1 grassroots organization, 3 government agencies, and 2 businesses to provide WIL opportunities for diverse students from the College of New Caledonia (CNC) and the University of Northern BC (UNBC). Students were paired with non-profits to complete applied research projects.
