Vancouver Island University Foundation (VIU Foundation) is a registered charity that was in charge of coordinating project direction and activities, compiling information regarding industry needs, and developing and delivering soft skills training for students for this project.
Vancouver Island University, a main network partner, was responsible for facilitating student engagement and faculty consultation. The aim of this project was to enhance apprenticeship WIL opportunities through the development and delivery of soft skills training to VIU students. The VIU Foundation created a multi-year plan to support trades businesses in the training, mentoring, and retention of students and early career workers in mid Vancouver Island.
