Stuart Cullum President

Stuart Cullum is an executive leader with experience in private industry as well as the finance, post-secondary, and not-for-profit sectors. For more than 25 years, Stuart and his teams have established programming and centres for research, teaching and learning, company development and entrepreneurship – attracting partnerships and significant external investment.

Stuart joined Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) as President in August 2022, and has led the institution through its transformation into student centred, industry focused polytechnic, concentrated in advanced manufacturing, energy innovation, social innovation and healthcare & health technology.  

Stuart came to RDP from Olds College of Agriculture and Technology, where he served as President since 2016. Stuart also served as Vice President Academic and Chief Operating Officer at Lethbridge College, Vice President Agriculture at Northlands, and Executive Director of NAIT's applied research and company development division.  

An ICD.D Accredited Professional Director, Stuart has extensive board and committee experience. He currently serves on the boards of Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA), Covenant, the Alberta Post-Secondary Network (APSN), and the Post-Secondary International Network (PIN). He also serves on the Alberta Public Sector Employers’ Council and was a member of the Alberta’s Skills for Jobs Taskforce.
