Work-integrated learning (WIL) allows students to develop job-ready skills through hands-on experience before they graduate. But for students with disabilities, persistent barriers to WIL remain.
BHER and eCampusOntario have developed “Accessible WIL: A Roadmap for Accessible Work Integrated Learning” as a resource to guide post-secondaries and employers in using digital transformation to create more inclusive, accessible, and effective WIL experiences for students with disabilities.
In this Roadmap, you will find an environmental scan of the accessibility resources currently available, insights into how students with disabilities navigate various stages of WIL, the issues they face at each stage, and recommendations and good practices for improving their experiences at the individual, institutional, and beyond-the-institutional levels.
Check out the full report for useful tools and actionable steps that can help with your WIL and accessibility strategies.
