One example is En Point's work with startups, including a startup partner that has been hiring young professionals and students in WIL positions -- from co-ops to internships to corporate residences -- since 2017. This particular start=up has hired 13 WIL positions to date and two of these WIL students have turned into part-time positions after the WIL opportunity. Companies like startups have been able to offer WIL opportunities thanks to the federal and provincial government's support to offset onboarding and training time costs. Undergraduate students are hired from their second to their final year, and they often experience their first foray into working in an office outside the academic setting through this opportunity.
