Simon Fraser University's Co-operative Education Program (SFU Co-op) has been operating for over 40 years and is the first of its kind in Western Canada. SFU was the first university to offer an online community for co-op student stories and educational content. SFU Co-op's mandate is not only to provide students with work-integrated learning opportunities, but to help their 16,500+ employer partners across the globe recruit talent. Since March 2020, WIL at SFU has moved its educational programs online while supporting its students in adapting to remote/online working environments during COVID-19. This includes introducing new curriculum on how to thrive and add value while working remotely with less mentoring and supervision compared to on-site.
