The Quinte Home Builders' Association (QHBA) is the leading industry voice in the Quinte Region, representing hundreds of member builders, suppliers, trade contractors, financial, and service professionals.
Loyalist College is an English-language college in Belleville, Ontario, partnered with the private Toronto Business College. These two organizations partnered together with BHER to launch the QHBA Loyalist Skilled Trades Discovery Project. Through this project, the partners built a platform and a pathway to facilitate meaningful WIL opportunities for Loyalist College students in and around the Quinte Region. A variety of WIL opportunities created, including but not limited to applied research projects, apprenticeships, community service learning, and full-time work placement-based WIL.
This project enhanced the WIL education of students, promoted technology and knowledge transfer, ensured curriculum relevance of Loyalist programs, and worked to narrow the gap in skilled labour in the Quinte Region.
