Over the past 55 years, Centennial College has transformed itself from a local community college to a worldly institution, with a presence in countries such as China, India, South Korea, and Brazil. Centennial’s focus has always been on preparing graduates to enter the workforce while teaching students to be leaders.

Centennial aims to create 550 WIL experiences that support equity-deserving students in developing their professional skills and applying their academic learning to real-world challenges. This project addresses a challenge faced by many students from equity-deserving groups, especially international students: a lack of flexible and innovative opportunities for curricular and co-curricular WIL experiences. Through this project, students will connect with local and global communities and partners within a variety of industry sectors, including the health care and social assistance, construction, and manufacturing sectors.

The proposed WIL experiences will enable participants to gain skills and experience, as well as make connections with potential future employers and industries within their area of study. The project will also benefit employers, who will receive new ideas and solutions for their challenges, and will gain access to talent from equity-deserving groups for their growth and needs.
