The Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER) is thrilled to welcome Enbridge Gas to our growing membership.

Enbridge Gas is Canada's largest natural gas storage, transmission, and distribution company, providing affordable energy for approximately 3.9 million residents and businesses. As a leader in the transition to a net-zero future, Enbridge will be an important industry partner in BHER’s goal to create inclusive pathways to green jobs.

The environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals set out by Enbridge include reaching net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with an interim target of reducing emissions intensity by 35% by 2030. Another goal is to increase the representation of diverse groups within their workforce by 2025.

“The partnership between academia and the energy industry signifies more than just collaboration; it is a shared commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and shaping the future of education,” says Michele Harradence, Executive Vice President & President, Gas Distribution & Storage, Enbridge Gas. “By engaging with post-secondary institutions in Ontario, BHER and Enbridge Gas can contribute to the ongoing discussion on energy evolution, build valuable relationships, and facilitate recruitment.”

Enbridge’s goals align with BHER’s commitment to developing green skills training and jobs for equity-deserving and international students. We look forward to working together.
